The whole episode was very romantic, compelling, and about more than just the sex between them. A glimpse of both of the interiors of Jean-Luc and Deanna...more in-depth than most stories which tend to rely only on what's been revealed on screen.. |

[1996 ASC Awards Post] I don't even *like* the TNG P/T pairing, but it's hard not to see the beautiful writing and characterization in this one. |

[1996 ASC Awards post] Now here's an unusual pairing, Troi and Picard. I was so intriqued I had to read it. Amd I'm glad I did. Ariana writes very well, and almost had me believing the pairing was possible. I thought the sex scene was downright exciting. Good Job. |

[1996 ASC Awards post] I almost dismissed 'With Me In Your Mind' unread because of the Picard/Troi pairing. I was lucky I didn't, because it's absolutely worth of reading! The characterization is wonderful and the story is full of details and observations giving it very much depth. Ariana's Enterprise has a crew of real people, whose life and personality have more than just one simple side. |

[1996 ASC Awards post] While I'm still not 100% certain that Picard and Troi would have sex, this is the way it would happen if they did. Ariana did a lovely job of looking into their respective heads (Picard thinks Troi isn't that bright, she thinks he's an ugly old man), and the "brief encounter" atmosphere work well. |

'With Me in Your Mind' is a Picard/Troi romance. Once again Ariana demonstrates her amazing ability to sucessfully put an unusual pairing together and make you wonder why you never of thought of it before. But there's more to it than that... Both Picard and Troi stay perfectly in character, and yet I learned new things about both of them. Ariana manages to highlight Picard's 'Frenchness', and *not* by hitting you over the head with some stereotype -- it's just a natural part of his identity (takes one to know one, I guess ;)). As for Troi, well, let's just say, I liked her a lot better after reading this story. |
