I've neglected until now to express my delight with the New Moon over Bajor serialization. I think the characters are handled with great insight, the plotting is deftly handled, and some very serious thought went into developing the storyline. This underscores something I've always believed, which is that fanfic is almost uniformly more interesting than the "official" product (obviously there is no comparison where "crossovers" are concerned).

I was really excited to see your story on ASC [alt.startrek.creative]. I was a "Space:1999" fan in my youth and I think you're doing a wonderful job with this crossover!

This story is *so* cool! Space 1999 was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. I didn't think there were any fans of the show left. I just love the picture on your web page for Chapter 1 - very clever! I'm really looking forward to reading the rest.

Just a brief note to say that I'm really, really enjoying this story - ...I'm surprised at how quickly I warmed up to a set of characters (those from 1999) of whom I knew absolutely nothing before this... But this is very absorbing, and the detail is great - I can picture everything so well. I also think Bashir is even more charming than usual, and as for Odo - I'm fascinated by the dilemma he's going through.

Well this is getting better and better... You have thought this out so well if you could ever get the rights to publish it it would be great i would buy it thats for sure. The detail is so real i feel like im weatching it as a series each week a new episode. So till the next chapter take care and have fun.

This is a great story, I love it and am really looking forward to the next part. I'd never even heard of Space:1999 before, and usually I don't like reading fanfic about series I don't know about, but the way you've written the characters, along with their reflections, just sorta eases me in and I feel like I know their back story (even though I don't) Keep up the good work!

Well I have to say you have a major talent with constructing a gripping storyline. I'm completely hooked by the DS9/1999 crossover. Kudos to you, it's great to see this kind of thing. This is the kind of story that could easily be made into a fantastic DS9 movie once the series ends...

I can not put into words how Great A New Moon Over Bajor is. You have re-awakened Moon Base Alpha and its Crew...I loved Space 1999 and still do. I watch the series over and over again. And sometimes it even depressed me to watch them knowing that I would not get a new series. But you have now done that for me...Thank You Thank You Thank You for bringing them alive for me again.....

Bajor is EXCELLENT! (And I'm not just saying this because I am such a fan of Tony and Maya & Y2) I mean this is great reading!
I'm not up to snuff on the last year or so of DS9 but I can tell you characterizations from both worlds seem very good to me (& I confess I scrutinzed the scenes with Tony & Maya carefully).
There's ACTION, aliens, intrigue, humor, & Verdeschi brew! What more could a fan of either series want, I ask? Well, ok maybe more romance on the part of the Verdeschi's :) and a little less danger but hey, who knows what's in store for them as this fiction progresses?

Having just read the latest installment of "Bajor," I just again want to say thanks to Ariana for going to all the time to write her novel and share it with us!! I love the use of humor--"male evolution obviously hadn't come very far in 400 years" (sorry if I am misquoting slightly--no time to look up the exact quote). Hilarious! And such great cliffhangers!...Keep up the great work!!!!

Look. I like a good story as much as the next guy, but this kept me up reading until 2:30 A.M.!! These fan stories are supposed to be cheesy, badly written, and show little understanding of the characters. This one is, in a word, riveting... Thank you.

Just a quick note to say how much I am enjoying New Moon Over Bajor. I am a great fan of Tony/Maya (since I was 10!). In fact Tony was the first man I noticed ever! I love to see them in a little angst.
I love this story, it's keeping me occupied through a bad time but I can hardly wait for [the rest]!

I remember watching Space 1999 when I was a kid, and it was right up there with Star Trek, as far as I was concerned. What I like most about your novel...is that it weaves a web of connections between the two sci-fi universes, but it leaves the characters and integrity of both intact. Additionally, I am impressed by the level of dialogue and interaction that all of the characters have with each other . . . Odo and Maya's relationship is particularly intriguing.
I don't know how you are going to finish the novel, and I don't know that I would want to offer any suggestions. The only three things I like to say are: 1) keep up the good work, 2) and, if at all possible (though I doubt it, considering that Space 1999 was produced 25 years ago), work toward getting the novel recognized as a legitimate script for a sci-fi movie. (Yes, I think it is that good . . . I can picture it all in my head like a good movie . . . though my opinion is probably worth spit to anyone else, lol.) And, third, don't leave me hanging too long. Thanks.

I just want to tell you (again) that I am really enjoying "A New Moon." I will admit to being a HUGE Tony/Maya 'shipper in my young teens (showing my age here, I know!)...I am just amazed at the story you've created here. You have stayed so very true to the characters, even with Sandra's way of speaking. The plot is tight and riveting. Thank you! I can't wait for the next installment!!

I ran across your web page by mistake and was taken by suprise...all I could think was 'COOL'. I have always thought about what it would be like if the two shows were some how merged and you have done it. It's great! S1999 was one of my favorite shows in my youth along with another called U.F.O. Not much is heard about the 2 shows these days and it was nice to see S1999 is not forgotten.

Greetings from across the Pond. I LOVE it. You should publish it in book form, and get it out there. As a "Charter Fan" of the show, I have been reading your story for the last several hours. When will the other chapters be ready?

First, let me say that I love the story. I wasn't sure that anyone could mesh the DS9 universe with Space 1999 universe but you did it. I had not problems seing the two crews interact together. I enjoy particularly all the conversation between Kira and Tony.
Something that I particularly like is that you take your time to tell us things about the characters. And you do tell us a lot. From Maya abilities compared to Odo to Maya complicated relationship to Tony toTony's life as a young boy (although, I wish this passage had been longer since Tony is my favorite character on Space 1999 :)).
Another reason why I like the story is because you did set it while the Federation is still at war with the Dominion. Bringing the Alphans to this period is interesting because it shows how things have change for the Federation. If the Alphans had show up a few years ago, the Federation would have been totally intrigued by those primitive humans and theirs wayward moon but now they are only trying to accommodate them in anyway they can.
But I must say that I wish you had stressed how much this war must be affecting the Federation. Here I have the impression that the Dominion war is happening somewhere else than at DS9 doorstep. Maybe that will change now that Weyoun and his cronies have show up :)
I must say something about the characterization. You do an excellent job with the S 1999 characters. I had no trouble hearing their voices. As for DS9 characters, I have to admit that I haven't watched DS9 for quite sometime but from what I remember they do sound like the characters I remember.
Thanks for posting [the story].
