| I just wanted to take a minute and let you know that I enjoyed your story a great deal. I think you did a very good job of making a relationship between Dukat and Kira believable. You a great job of making Dukat approachable and shed more insight into his character and gave him a heart. | |

| Halfway is an erotic story that delivers a great deal more than just erotica. A fascinating exploration of the characters of Major Kira and Gul Dukat. Well worth reading. | ||||

Wow. Your interpretation of Dukat has to be one of the most eye-opening and well done characteratizations I have ever read... You did an excellent job with Kira as well who is also a quite complicated character to write in these circumstances... There were so many things I liked... especially the discourse about the language (what a clever and thoughtful premise!) and there was such attention to DETAIL... As for the sexual tension... oh this was delicious. |

A wonderful story, absolutely charged with eroticism, and without ever becoming graphic at that! Glad to see Kira and Dukat finally have an opportunity to hear each others view of things, and perhaps, to come a step nearer to peace between them. The impression of Naprem is unlike any I've seen so far - not that I've seen many - and very believable for a woman Dukat would choose to stay with all those years. Languages play a great part in this story which is very interesting, as they are usually so easily dismissed by that deus-ex-machina (or rather, just machina), the universal translator. But - what happens when it's not around? |

I LOVED your story, all the details, all the subtle explanations, all the "building up" to the sex, which then DIDN'T have to be spelled out and described in intense detail... [This is] a story in which the past is explained, leading to a softening of Kira's feelings, and even an attraction. It was all so LOGICAL, which I loved most of all. It COULD happen that way, and in fact *I* really wish it WOULD. |

[1997 ASC Awards Post] I can't say enough good things so here I go again. Ariana, you have mananged here to write a spare, crisp, clean, unencumbered account of one night aboard a Klingon vessel, wherein Kira and Dukat in nightclothes pad around the halls, circling each other and out-talking each other in this elaborate mating ritual that is so true to the characters I could picture it all the way through. Everything is tangible in this story, the shape of the ship, the looks on Kira and Dukat's faces, the smirks and stares. I love the way you employed language tricks, having Dukat speak Bajoran somehow simultaneously eloquently and stumbling (just like Dukat when he's around Kira!). Your description of Dukat's vulnerabilities (esp. regarding Naprem) is right on, and Kira's resistance to her emotions combined with her desire comes forth in a brilliant display of gritty-yet-schoolgirlish attraction. This is a mating dance I can buy, and a night between Dukat and Kira that I can believe. Everything is in place: the doubt, the action, the desire, and everything fits. |

| I just read this story, and all that needs to be said is that its simply brilliant. Kira and Dukat are spot on as people, old enemies who find a suprising common ground and an attraction all to believable, and if I'd never seen Star Trek: Deep Space Nine before I'd have started just to see these two in the flesh after this. As it is, as something of an old hand at Trek-starting from the Next Generation, admittedly-I merely agree with other readers that if Kira Nerys and Dukat ever did share a tender moment, then this would or should be how it would happen. With all said and done, keep up the good work and I and anyone who asks me will be back for more. | ||||

| This is certainly one of the best reads I have had in the world of fanfiction. I congratulate the writer for the outstanding characterization and dialogue. Nothing short of brilliant! | ||||
