Buffy/Spike - [NC-17] - 06/01/2003
Set a few months after "Grave" (6.22) Buffy discovers that Spike has returned to Sunnydale a changed man.This story contains a lot of references to the bathroom scene in Seeing Red. But don't worry, it's not all gloom and doom! (Finished as of 6 January 2003)

Date: 17 May 2005 - Rating: 5Wonderful! This is a great story, though it's a bit long before the final between Spike and Buffy come, it's well written. As the other rviews, I wondered if the part three was really the end cause it could have a lot more to this story. But I guess it was already quite a job to write. Congrats for your good story! I really enjoyed it!

Date: 24 September 2006 - Rating: 5Great story, very well written I am feeling =) There should definitely be more to this story, please continue to where Buffy has the baby. Maybe add a twist of Angel showing up and beating up Spike a little. And definitely lots of smut =) Loved it!

The only thing i'd complain is there wasn't really an ending, it just sorta.. stopped. Is that how you meaant it, or us it an abandoned WIP? Also - the link at the bottom of part two is messed up & only reloads the page. i look forward to seeing what else you've written! :)

Date: 16 December 2007 - Rating:I'm sorry. I enjoy the rest of your writing. But this is the third time I've tried to finish this one, and I can't. It's the constant reiteration of "Spike tried to rape Buffy" -- you've practically changed his name to "the man who tried to rape Buffy" -- as though that that act was somehow infinitely worse than any other sin we've seen committed in the Buffyverse. Xander tried to rape Buffy. What was different about that? First, Xander knew it was rape. Second, he didn't stop himself when he realized that was what he was doing. Third, he didn't get nearly as far -- which is no excuse, because he got as far as he could, and would have gone farther if he'd had the power. Fourth, he didn't have any of the excuses Spike had, which I'll get to in a minute. Fifth, he made no attempt at reparations afterward. Instead, he was primarily concerned with his own embarrassment, so he pretended he didn't remember doing it. And yet, Xander didn't get referred to as "the man who tried to rape Buffy" for the rest of the show. For that matter, Dawn isn't being addressed as "thief" every time someone speaks to her. Willow's violation of Tara's will and memory was at least as bad as a rape, but Willow's only apparent regret was getting caught -- and after that, she did it again. Angel did major emotional damage to Buffy, and he was old enough to know better. Is he unforgivable? Xander dumped Anya at the worst possible moment, for self-centered reasons. Is he an unforgivable villain? Buffy was miserable after her resurrection. Did that justify jumping Spike's bones when she knew he loved her, and she didn't love him? Did it justify cynically using him for sex, verbally abusing him, inflicting deliberate emotional cruelty on him, beating him nearly to death, betraying him to Riley, and then dumping him *because the relationship wasn't good for her*? What they had was a classic abusive relationship -- and right up until the end, Buffy was the abuser. One more thing. Spike and Buffy's sexual relationship stepped over the line into violence and dubious consensuality from the moment it started. When people are sloppy about those issues, it's inevitable that someday one of them is going to seriously misread the other's cues. Buffy didn't stop Spike. He stopped himself, once he realized what was happening. So, I'm sorry, but I can't finish reading this. I can't take one more sanctimonious chorus of Spike Tried to Rape Buffy, Oooh How Awful, How Could He Hurt Her Like That, from characters we've watched deal out so much hurt themselves.
